Today all I pretty much wanted to do was shop. So I did. We checked out the lower east side first, there were a bunch of pretty cool vintage stores in this area. They were all really damn expensive though, I'm talking around the $200 mark for dresses. I fell in love with this red chiffon 1960's cocktail dress but it was close to $300 so I didnt even try it on : [ There was an awesome vintage furniture store, but again heaps xxy. I've been watching these pacman phones on the 'Bay for a while now, they usually go for around $100, this store had them for $245
No thank you. It was fun too look at all the dresses and stuff. I saw this guy - I liked his style
Yah. Then I went to Giant Robot, which I had been looking forward to for ages. Giant Robot puts out a magazine which features toys, mostly with an Eastern Influence but western stuff as well. The store was hell sweet and I dropped around $100. Yesssss. Got the SnowMonkey IWG figure and a shirt and some junk and a present for Luke.
Random building picture - I don't think I will tire of the buildings anytime soon
I'd read about some good thrift stores in the sort of lower/mid manhatton area so we had a look at them - I got this fkn awesome red H&M trench for $20. Pretty good score IMO
Early on in the planning stages of our trip, James had been corresponding w/ this woman who may have had an apartment for us - she didn't. Anyway she suggested we meet up and we figured you can't have too many NYC contacts so we did. She and her palz were all very nice and we got some good tips on the city. Plus she can get us into MoMa for free. Excellent.
When we got off the sub at home there were all these bands playing and we were a bit wth. It was part of the Make music New York festival thing or something
Anyway the bands were pretty good but then it started STORMING so we ran home. brrrr.
