Epilogue

I am back in the AU : ]

I had an excellent time in SD, and in NYC. Rly damn excellent.

My flight home was kinda wack, I was so excited about seeing Mark I hardly got any damn sleep :/ It was a lovely reunion though, lots of hugz : ]

I spent a day being jetlagged, then M and I went to Coloundra for some op shopping. I got a swt bag and some sunniez then we ate fish and chips.

We got a little bit drunx that night and recreated the album cover for "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx" using photobooth. *blush*

Also went to Common Pepoles. Was fun. Am glad the line up to SITG was so damn average, because there's no way in hell I would have been up to going.

*tssss*

Now I am back at work, and soon to be back at uni. bllgh

So I guess that's it. The above wasn't so interesting, and tbqh, a little embarrassing. I will prolly update this every now and again, if something exciting happens but for the mean time...

Thanks 4 reading my junk : ]

The best way to get a hangover?

Let a dirty Mexican straddle you and pour tequila down yr throat....

MEXICO

I decided to miss the evening part of con and go on a hostel organised drinking tour of Mexico, good idea huh? I pretty much drank my body weight in coronas and tequila and a couple of margeritas.. ruh roh. It was fun though.

They painted a donkey as a zebra and charged people $2 for a picture

This place had free tequilla and moonshine shots, and rly cheap liquor

"Here I am in Mexico"

They pour tequila down yr throat, the shake up a beer and pour that too, then they shake you. If was a combination of awful and awesome.

I didn't buy any drugz

"and then we all rode the mechanical bull"

Going through customs to get back to America.

So I'm glad I got to do that, I'm not glad about my splitting headache. Luckily I sobered up on the trolley home a bit (it takes around 50mins to get from our hostel to Mexico). Today I'm going to check out con, it's the best day for shopping apparently as everyones closing up. Not sure about my luggage though, will do all that tonight, because I'm coming home tomorrow!! A bit excited about seeing my pals, and markmarkmark.

The Best Cure for A Hangover?

Wait.. I did this YESTERDAY. uuuuughhhhhh. Proving I don't learn from my mistakes, I went out and got absolutely shit faced last night. Went to the StrangCo/Munky King party, which, was so excellent. It was so bizzare too, meeting these people I write about... I got a LITTLE fan girly but I think I played it pretty cool... Oh dear. So I met heaps of cool guys which was rly fun. The only person I didn't meet was the guy who does vinylpulse - he'd left. that would have been swt.

Marka27 who is the guy behind the "Brazillian MiniGods" was there, I totally don't remember his name. Mark maybe? You think I'd remember that, but everyone prolly knows how bad I am memory wise when drinking.... Anyway he had a MiniGod in his car so he showed me how it works (it's a speaker, but I've written about him in Rave so y'all prolly know that already right?) It is rly fkn swt. Im tossing up getting one, but will have to re-evaluate my luggage..

So good. They had live painting by Angry Woebots and Mainframe and some other guise

Thomas Han, a dude and Mainframe

Everyone was v friendly, thats a clique but true. so whatever. I got talking to a guy from KidRobot and he said there is another Mavillian colourway coming soon AND (and he made a 'dont tell anyone face') KR are in talks with... The mfkn WU. Wu Tang Clan. Sounds interesting.

Tara McPherson & me looking fkn shady

Thomas Han. Good dude.

Clubs here close at TWOam. How fkn wack is that. The StrangeCo guys walked me home, which was extremely nice. I couldn't find my nighty so slept in my undiez. lol. sorry roomates.

So skip to today, me w a massive hangover. Overslept so missed out on the Warner Panel >: [ then wandered around a bit, got a present 4 Skye (yr right, Marc Ellerby is such a babe) and a present for Mark, who by now is amassing a pretty okee vinyl collection. Sorry baby. The line up to get into the Hall for the Fox panel was over, oh, say 400ms? maybe? I dont know but it was massive and not moving so I gave up. bummed out. I think there is a separate Futurama panel some time, they are making another season so thats cool. Chatted to some guise, the guy from the Williamsburg toy store was there, nice to see a familiar face. Then I decided I was to damn hungover and gave up and went and saw The Simpsons Movie. It was good : ]

Tonight there is a Custom Show that everyone is going to, but I'm yet to decide whether to go along - I don't want to drink... Maybe. I should go.

Tomorrow is the biggest day at con, so early night I hope : ]

Can someone recommend me a book? I've finished mine.

The best cure for a hangover?

8 hrs at comic con... waaaaah.

My "one or two" beers last night in the party room at my hostel turned into "quite a few" beers, w/ some complimentary tequila shots. ruh roh. needless to say i wasnt feeling the best at 10am. bllgh.

Anyway so wandered around con for a bit feeling sorry for myself, i bought a bit of junk, none of which was for me surprisingly. Em, C'Harms, Aoi and Mark all did okee though : ]

The highlight of my day was definately the Paramount Picture presentation. They started off by showing some of "Hot Rods" followed by a panel w/ the guys, including Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live fame. They were pretty funny (dick in a box got a mention) but the movie looks like it sucks. Then they showed some bits from "Stardust", the movie based on Gaiman's novel. He did some q&a and to be honest was a pretty funny and charming guy. I'm not a huge fan of his work but he seems cool. Then he stayed on for the "Beowulf" preview, it looks okee, the movie will be in 3D so that should be interesting. Then they showed a poster for "Sweeny Tod". That was pretty unexciting. Then, and this was a highlight, they did the Iron Man stuff. It's easy to get caught up in the crowd feeling, but it looks pretty damn impressive. THEN it went totz black and then. .. da da da da da da daaa <-- thats the theme song to INDIANA JONES. Everyone went nuts, as you can imagine. They showed a little video from the set, w Speilburg, Ford et al. The guy next to me was BLATANLY disobeying the 'no recording" rule, so it's prolly already up on the youtubes. Harrison looks old. If the crowd couldnt get more excited, they gave it a shot, as the Star Trek panel came on. lol. The director was there, and the new Spock (Zac Quintet or something). They did a bit of a q&a then, to everyones joy, they bought out Leonard Nimoy, who will have some part in the film. Spock at a comic con. Even I got a little excited. Oh oh oh i almost forgot, they showed a preview for a as yet untitled film directed by J J Abrams. Its a monster film based in NY, I got excited because it looked like a Brooklyn rooftop (looks at James). It could be good.

Everyone got a little gift bag with some kinda cool gear, I have 3 XL shirts if there's any takers.

I hung around for the Lions Gate presentation, Jessica Alba was there. She's pretty hot I guess. All these guys were like taking her picture and stuff. yah. then they had a preview of "Midnight Meat train" which is an adaptation of a Charles Baker novel. He was fkn nuts, he basically slurred incoherently, cursed a lot and was thoroughly entertaining. Vinnie Jones is in that movie. I like him.

Now I'm hell tired. I couldn't be bothered walking to the internet cafe that allows me to upload pictures so you'll have to use yr imagination for the time being. Tonight there is this on
It's a StrangeCo/Munky King party thing. I realllllly don't feel like going, but that's not rly an option is it? Then, soberness and tiredness allowing, I'm hoping to check out Tokyo Police Club. I rly just want to go to bed and finish my Murakami book. It's a hard life : ]

Gardens then CON

So I had a totally excellent day today. I started off by hanging in the Baboa (sp?) park. I went to the INternational Museum then hung out in the Japanese Friendship garden, like writing in my diary and stuff B ] It was SO pretty

Frkn heat Koi. Anyway, because i'd been doing so much walking I treated myself to 'Jack In the Box" curly fries yum.
Okee Okee then it was comic con time! Because I am running out of internet, I am just going to copy and paste the message I sent to Mark, okee? k.
COMIC CON! man. oh man. its so fkn intense. i got there round 5 to get my badge n junk and wait till the doors opened at 6. it was full of nerds and i can say w/out a doubt i am the hottest most well dressed person there. but thats not saying much. zomg nerds. anyway got in after a huge line up and pretty much ran (blushes) to the strangco booth. got my yod (lmited to 30) then made a beeline for rocketworld. i spent $280 at that booth lol oh dear. got one of the THREE pearys avaliable. and met patrick ma!!! and the booth seller was so nice, he was going to give me a free lithograph bvut i was like, oh i already have two. i am so damn cool huh. so yeh, so fkn orsum. all the booths looked so good. i only spent like an hour after that there, cause i was lugging the worlds biggest tote bag full of toys :D my luggage situation isnt looking so flash (space wise) but i dont need to buy much more so yah : ]

Here are some pics

Soooo thats about it for today, I might go check out this band but its fkn ages away from my hostel : / hmm. at the same place tomorrow night Tokyo Police CLub are playing, with, Dappled City 'Live' they are from aus so i'm guessing they are the same (shit) band I'm thinking of? Anyway there's also a StrangeCo/MunkyKing Con party on tomorrow night so might go to that instead. hmmmm.

Not long rly until I come back. Sad, and happy. I miss Mark so damn much.

Pan-da pan-da pan-da pan-da pan

Beep Beep!

I went to the zoo, and it was super fun. The San Diego zoo is famous for some reason, or at least I'd (and james) heard of it before. Anyway it's in the middle of this park, which also has a bunch of different museums and galleries and gardens. It was so so good because i heart all those things. I will prolly go back tomorrow morning with a book (currently reading Kafka on the Shore by Murakami).

Here are some pictures from the gardens

Then I went to the zoo. Oh man it was so orsum. My favorite parts were the flamingos, the pandas (of course), the monkeys and the otter. I think. It was all good.
Flamingos are so gay

This guy came up to the fence, and as I was taking a photo he got a hard on. swear to god. I blushed and ran away

Here I am in the panda shop pretending to be a panda *gruntgrunt*

Look at this guy. Smiley panda

CAN YOU SPOT THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THESE PICTURES?

lol
With James back in Aus, I have no one to take pictures of me. I gave a small mexican boy $1 for this one.

Sleeping red panda zzzzz

"If we all dress in bright yellow, we'll never loose each other" GREAT IDEA HONNEEEY

Im not sure what this guy is. maybe the cheeky zebra had a bit of a roam?
^_^

So that was the zoo. Now I'm trying to find a place that does waxing. And also find out some con stuff. GRRR at paying for the internet! So comment my damn blog cause it cost $2.50 to do : [

Con starts tomorrow afternoon (pre registration) pretty damn excited. The hostel has been okee backpacker places remind me to much of living on res. I'm hoping all the bogans leave and are replaced by con attenders. hot con attenders.

tomorrow i'm hopefully going to get a wax then hang out in the park then go to con.
