The best cure for a hangover?

8 hrs at comic con... waaaaah.

My "one or two" beers last night in the party room at my hostel turned into "quite a few" beers, w/ some complimentary tequila shots. ruh roh. needless to say i wasnt feeling the best at 10am. bllgh.

Anyway so wandered around con for a bit feeling sorry for myself, i bought a bit of junk, none of which was for me surprisingly. Em, C'Harms, Aoi and Mark all did okee though : ]

The highlight of my day was definately the Paramount Picture presentation. They started off by showing some of "Hot Rods" followed by a panel w/ the guys, including Andy Samberg of Saturday Night Live fame. They were pretty funny (dick in a box got a mention) but the movie looks like it sucks. Then they showed some bits from "Stardust", the movie based on Gaiman's novel. He did some q&a and to be honest was a pretty funny and charming guy. I'm not a huge fan of his work but he seems cool. Then he stayed on for the "Beowulf" preview, it looks okee, the movie will be in 3D so that should be interesting. Then they showed a poster for "Sweeny Tod". That was pretty unexciting. Then, and this was a highlight, they did the Iron Man stuff. It's easy to get caught up in the crowd feeling, but it looks pretty damn impressive. THEN it went totz black and then. .. da da da da da da daaa <-- thats the theme song to INDIANA JONES. Everyone went nuts, as you can imagine. They showed a little video from the set, w Speilburg, Ford et al. The guy next to me was BLATANLY disobeying the 'no recording" rule, so it's prolly already up on the youtubes. Harrison looks old. If the crowd couldnt get more excited, they gave it a shot, as the Star Trek panel came on. lol. The director was there, and the new Spock (Zac Quintet or something). They did a bit of a q&a then, to everyones joy, they bought out Leonard Nimoy, who will have some part in the film. Spock at a comic con. Even I got a little excited. Oh oh oh i almost forgot, they showed a preview for a as yet untitled film directed by J J Abrams. Its a monster film based in NY, I got excited because it looked like a Brooklyn rooftop (looks at James). It could be good.

Everyone got a little gift bag with some kinda cool gear, I have 3 XL shirts if there's any takers.

I hung around for the Lions Gate presentation, Jessica Alba was there. She's pretty hot I guess. All these guys were like taking her picture and stuff. yah. then they had a preview of "Midnight Meat train" which is an adaptation of a Charles Baker novel. He was fkn nuts, he basically slurred incoherently, cursed a lot and was thoroughly entertaining. Vinnie Jones is in that movie. I like him.

Now I'm hell tired. I couldn't be bothered walking to the internet cafe that allows me to upload pictures so you'll have to use yr imagination for the time being. Tonight there is this on
It's a StrangeCo/Munky King party thing. I realllllly don't feel like going, but that's not rly an option is it? Then, soberness and tiredness allowing, I'm hoping to check out Tokyo Police Club. I rly just want to go to bed and finish my Murakami book. It's a hard life : ]

and imo it looks like they're in BK, but then the next shot when they're outside it looks like they're in Manhattan. thats just dumb. im going to draft a letter to jj abrams.

oh yer, it's geographically wack. it starts out in the 'burg but the street shot is on Broadway (Manhattan Broadway, not Brooklyn Broadway).

i think in the williamsboard thread someone had a photo from Broadway that matched up to a still from the trailer.

it's especially silly because they see manhattan from the brooklyn rooftop and then next minute the skyscrapers are right there with them.

that said, had i watched the movie normally, i doubt i'd have noticed.
